Cab on 4 wheel Floater

(back to FLX4020/4520)

The FLX3020, 3520, 4020 and 4520 floater chassis feature the Surveyor Cab - for exceptional roominess, visibility, and comfort.  The Surveyor cab, with a total interior space of 113 cubic feet, provides room to move with unmatched legroom.
Visibility is greatly enhanced to the front, sides and rear, with a total of 67 square feet of tinted glass.  A laminated front window, along with tempered side and rear windows, help ensure operator safety.
The left side, full-length window/door opens outward to allow forward access to the cab.  the right side, full-length window also swings open.  This provides an emergency exit from the cab and access to the fuse panel and wiring.  The cab is vibration isolation mounted and acoustically isolated.  A tilt and telescopic steering column with a foot release gives the operator a multitude of positions to choose from.  Boot pegs allow the operator to elevate his or her feet for a comfortable ride.  The cab is also equipped with front and rear pull-down visors to help eliminate glare.

The Optima air ride seat swivels left and right.  Lumbar support, ride firmness, tilt back rest, and fore-to-aft shock isolation can all be adjusted individually to suit the operator.  The air ride seat uses a "scissor action" linkage which enables the entire seat to float as a unit.
An optional instructional seat also doubles as a beverage holder and storage compartment.
Cab controls are positioned overhead for climate control, wipers, flashers, field & road lights, and most importantly, the attitude adjustment control (sound system).

The control center is mounted to the right-hand console, attached directly to the seat.  Both the controls and the console move with the operator while the unit traverses the field.
The control center is adjustable for operator comfort.  This ergonomic design provides the operator with more "eyes free" operation of the various spreading and spraying functions.  Controls for these functions are mounted on the joystick.

The Allison 3000 RDS  transmission has two programmed shift patterns. (Right picture) It defaults to the primary (road) the 'Mode' switch changes it to the secondary (field) shift pattern.

The Allison 3000 RDS transfers power to a Fabco TC-237 two-speed auxiliary transmission, coupled to an Axle Tech two speed outboard planetary rear end.  "Switch Logic" is used to achieve one of four speed ranges to efficiently transfer power to the ground. (Control-left picture)
